In the past St Denys Church was run
Benedictine Monks, who had a daily routine including regular prayer.
During Lent 2007, from Ash Wednesday to
Good Friday, we introduced a daily prayer cycle into St Denys
Church. Prayer was be offered every morning, afternoon and evening.
Members of St Denys lead
different prayer times and the style of prayer reflected the preferences of
the person who has taken the responsibility for that time. Silent prayer,
Celtic Prayer (Northumbrian Community), Guitar led worship and many other
different expressions of prayer happened over the Lent period.

We often hear talks and sermons about
what Christians are supposed to believe but how does one put all this into
practice? This lent we are offering a short course on some of the practicalities
of the Christian life.

“What is God doing in our City”
A series of Tuesday Evenings talks
occurred in 2004 at 7.30pm in St Denys
Church, Lisvane A series of talks sharing vision for the city, followed by
‘Night Prayer’

Tuesday 2nd March – “Ignite”
Mr Nigel James, Director of Big Ideas Nigel will share his
vision for work amongst teenage Christians in the city.
Tuesday 9th March – “The Beacon Centre”
The Revd Paul Houiellebecq, St Mellon’s Community Church.
Paul will share his vision for the church in the east of the city.
Tuesday 16th March – “Cardiff Christian Leaders”
The Revd Paul Francis, Glenwood Community Church. Paul will
share his vision for unity amongst Christian leaders in the city.
Tuesday 23rd March – “City Centre Church?”
The Revd Keith Kimber, Parish of Central Cardiff.
Keith will share of his vision for the Church in the city centre.
Tuesday 30th March – “The Welsh Assembly”
Mrs Jenny Hill, Director of Wales National Prayer
Breakfast. Jenny will share her vision for prayer with Christians at the Welsh
Assembly
