All children and young people (from pre-school through to post-school) are welcome and will be entertained with a mixture of fun activities and engaging Christian teaching. We are dedicated as a church to offering a high standard of youth and children’s work and our leaders are suitably certified and trained in child protection, health and safety and first aid. Here’s a flavour of some of what we do:
Junior Church caters for pre-school children right up to sixth formers at the 11.00am service on the 1st, 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. The First Sunday of the month is designated the All Age Service which is especially aimed at families.
Little Angels runs in the Church Hall for the youngest toddlers and children up to and including those in school Year 2. We begin the morning in the Church Service for the first song and prayer and then move into the hall for Bible Stories, games, colouring and sticking, followed by singing and prayers.
Disciples meet in Church House (opposite the church) for those in school Year 3 – Year 6. This venue provides this large and lively group with more space for their activities. They look at Bible stories, play games, have discussions, and sometimes do craft activities as well as joining together for worship and prayer.
The resources we use include material produced by Children’s Ministry, Scripture Union, and our own in-house materials. Our desire, as Junior Church leaders, is to share the love of Jesus with every child in our care on Sunday morning and to enable them to have great fun learning about God and His love for each one of us.
