St Denys Church is a lively
Anglican church on the
edge of Cardiff (Wales, UK) situated in the community of Lisvane.
Up until a generation ago this was a small
farming community with a village church opposite the Griffin Pub. Now it
is a suburb of the city of Cardiff. We are able to
maintain some of the village atmosphere in our church, but our congregation is
drawn both from the village and from other parts of the city.
We are a growing congregation and have
excellent youth and children's work.
We have a Youth & Children's Pastor and an assistant Youth Worker working at St
Denys.
Church growth is our main priority,
reflecting our mission statement 'Building a community of God's people who
follow Jesus in the Power of the
Holy Spirit' and as a result we are at present considering some major alterations to
our building so as to accommodate the expected Church growth.
The church has a
Mission Action Plan which commits the
Church to the following work:
To grow the church numerically and
spiritually
To provide welcoming, excellent and
varied worship opportunities, which are valued and valuable no matter what
their style.
To discover and implement a variety of
ways of supporting 'community' in the parish
To give what God is doing for us to
others by finding ways of being a resource for other churches including in
training days and mission teams
We are committed to the Alpha course and
to New Wine values.
You will always receive a
warm welcome from the people of St Denys Church.
